
Jack Valenti, who passed away last week, participated in one of the Lear Center's most electrifying events: a head-to-head debate with creative commons guru Larry Lessig. The sparks flew as Valenti, longtime chief of the MPAA and a fierce advocate of strict copyright protection, tangled with Lessig, the world's foremost "free culture" advocate. It was a fight we won't forget. And the boxing gloves were brilliant.
