And You Shall Know Us By The Trail Of Our Vinyl, the new book by Josh Kun and Roger Bennett , is winning rave reviews for its fresh look at the American story through the lens of Jewish LPs recorded from the 40s to the 70s. The book features approximately 500 of the thousands of LPs that Kun, Director of the Lear Center's Popular Music Project, and his coauthor collected over the last eight years, which reveal the rich, largely forgotten mix of Jewish, Yiddish, African-American and Latin music that Americans enjoyed once upon a time. Producer and philanthropist Norman Lear wrote a piece for the book about Korean American performer Johnny Yune and his Jewish-themed LP, Ose Shalom.
